Ritualist

I love the team. Spoiler: They don't last the whole series. MC is a bit of a loner.

I skipped over Book 3. The author wrote Book 3 from the POV of a side character. Fortunately, it's basically a stand-alone novel. I had no issues skipping it. From the main character's POV, book 4 picks up where book 2 left off. This is an excellent book, BTW.

Author struggled with pacing. The main character lacked agency in a big way for the first half of the novel. Had to put it down a couple times. Glad I finished because the series goes back to being excellent.

Better than previous book. Not my favorite setting, but I enjoyed it.

Climax of a three-book arc.

Introduces tower defense elements. Works shockingly well. Possibly my favorite world.

Joe is finally becoming a forward-thinking leader.

Caps a strong three-book arc!

Fun return to his roots. Love it when MCs show their old foes whose boss. Author does a good job of maintaining tension despite low power levels.

Breathless pacing. Tighten you belt.

So satisfying. Joe is a proper powerhouse.
