Books Like The Primal Hunter
The Primal Hunter blew my mind when it escalated from "survive the tutorial" to "win the planet" and then just. Kept. Going. Incredibly, System logic doesn't break down at higher realms.
The first arc is the strongest, but I sometimes pick the series back up as a casual read. It's fun to see just how far the author can stretch this neverending power fantasy. (Hot tip: Skim the Nevermore arc.)
If you liked The Primal Hunter, you might enjoy one of the following series.
1. Defiance of the Fall
Dude starts the book with an advantage and leans into it to win the apocalypse. Plot feels very similar to The Primal Hunter in a good way. Loads of blue screen, crunchy system goodness. Epic scope.
The series also shares the weakness of The Primal Hunter: thin side characters. But if you don't mind turning your brain off, it's a fun romp through the multiverse.
2. He Who Fights With Monsters (HWFWM)
Aussie is thrown into a hostile universe and scrambles to make it work. More introspective than The Primal Hunter. Substitutes anti-institutional shenanigans for crafting elements.
Both this and The Primal Hunter share a universe that naturally widens in scope to epic scale. Both MCs are on a mission to save the Earth, sort of. Primal Hunter MC is much less concerned with morality than Jason, the MC of HWFWM, who never stops grappling with what it means to have power.
You don't need to turn your brain off for this one. It's well thought-out, thought like The Primal Hunter, some books have pacing issues. It's still one of the best books in the litRPG genre.
