What Is LitRPG

LitRPG is the fusion of roleplaying games and traditional novels. It's the gamer's response to scrolling Steam and finding absolutely nothing worth playing. No games? No problem. Pick up a litRPG and dive into a game through the mind of a special character.

Technically, the grenre is characterized by game-like features, such as

• levels
• a game-like interface
• a powerful "system"

...but the litRPG-ness of a litRPG story doesn't lie in its features, just as the human-ness of a person doesn't lie in a person's head, or chest, or hands. It's the overall vibe. If the story feels like a game, and it contains many game-like elements, it's probably a litRPG.
